If you are planning a Christmas trip to the Smokies then you definitely need to take advantage of some of the great seasonal events and specials. One treat you don’t want to leave Pigeon Forge without experiencing is the Christmas Titanic with real snow! Every Saturday in December, it will snow – REAL snow – off the bow of the Titanic. The museum will be honoring the lives of the 2,208 people who died in the sinking with their exhibit “Christmas is a Winter Wonderland”. And don’t come just for the snow! The whole museum inside and out will be lit up with thousands of lights.
If you have some extra time in your schedule you can also register for a class at Arrowmont. The classes start on January 14, but registration ends on the 31st. You can find the full class schedule and details here.
Hang around for New Year’s Eve in Pigeon Forge.
And if you are still around for New Year’s then you have 2 great options for an amazing night! Gatlinburg will be hosting the 26th annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks show. This takes place at the base of the Space Needle located at the intersection of Parkway and Historic Nature Trail. Or you can visit Pigeon Forge’s newest attraction, The Island. This will be the first ever ball drop in Pigeon Forge. You won’t want to miss the VIP party at Timberwood Grill and the unveiling of the 11,000 square foot fountains. For more information and to register for the VIP party click here.
For your accommodations we highly recommend staying here at Park Grove Inn. We are in a location central to all the best things in Pigeon Forge including the Titanic Museum and The Island. We also offer a heated indoor pool to escape the wintery chill of the Smokies. You can save money by staying in one of our kitchenette suites and cooking in a few nights. And in case you get snowed in you can make your own meals or walk a short distance to a number of great restaurants including Mellow Mushroom and Johnny Carino’s. Our facilities, including the pool, are also handicap accessible.
